Volunteer as a Vet Tech Mentor

Interested in becoming a veterinary technician mentor?

Support.

Veterinary technicians are at the highest risk for mental health challenges within the industry. We hope to create a community of support for veterinary technicians. Do you want to help us provide that support network for those in need?

Grow.

As a mentor for the MentorVet Community, you’ll gain CE credit while volunteering as you’ll be participating in a free five-hour virtual mentor orientation & suicide intervention training to prepare you for your role. This training has been approved for five hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize RACE approval. In addition, we provide ongoing webinars and training opportunities to help you to continue honing your mentoring skills.

Connect.

After completing mentor training, you’ll join our mentor platform where you will be connected with an early-career professional. For six months, expect to spend around one hour per month connecting with your mentee. Communication with mentees is usually via virtual meeting, email, phone calls, or texting - whatever the preference of the mentor/mentee pair. At the end of the six months, you can choose to continue mentoring your mentee and/or be paired with a new mentee. Engage in optional monthly mentor connection sessions to connect with other mentors in program.
